The job profile
As Manager Financial & Business Control, you are part of the Leadership Team (LT) in the Finance Data & Reporting department (Hub FD&R). You manage both the Financial Controllers and the Finance Business Partners in your team and you are ultimately responsible for the Volksbank’s planning & control cycle. In this role, you report to the Director of Finance, Data, and Reporting, and you will collaborate closely with the LT, CFO, ánd Executive Committee.
Responsibilities:
- You are end responsible for the financial and non-financial reports and you enable the Volksbank management to take decisions or actions;
- You are responsible for Volksbank's planning & control cycle. You spearhead the forecasting and budgeting process for Volksbank and its units. You determine and roll out the policies, (financial-) frameworks and guidelines and communicate these to the management and leadership teams;
- You are the point of contact for strategic, financial processes of Volksbank. For management information, you are the linking pin between the CFO, shareholder, supervisor and the business;
- You initiate and formulate improvement proposals regarding financial policies and financial processes and procedures.

The ideal candidate
In addition to being an experienced, analytical finance professional, you are a visionary. Ever knowledgeable what drives and thrives in your focus area, you translate the vision into key objectives, milestones and actions. You foresee their impact and consequences across various organizational layers. There you make realistic decisions and base your choices on gathered information and on balancing different interests.
- A completed, higher degree in a business economics related field, such as Accountancy & Control or Business Administration. A post-master qualification (such as RA, RC, CPA, CMA) is highly advantageous;
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience within a high-complexity corporate setting;
- Trusted advisor to senior management, having previous exposure to Executive Committees, Board members and/or Management Teams;
- Experience with acting as a business partner in improving the financial performance, process efficiency and on commercial, strategic and organizational matters;
- Demonstrable leadership qualities and at least 5 years of experience in a team lead role managing large teams (10+ FTE), including leadership development, succession planning and training and coaching;
- Knowledgeable about financial policies, (financial) frameworks and guidelines and the control framework.
