Group CFO

Organization

For several private equity-backed portfolio companies we are looking for experienced Group CFOs. These organizations operate in sectors such as consulting, professional services and IT services/software and have been built through an international buy-and-build strategy.

In most cases, the platform has been established over the past few years through a series of acquisitions and integrations. The companies are now entering the next phase of development, where the focus shifts from building the platform to unlocking value across the group. Key priorities include realizing commercial and operational synergies, strengthening financial processes and performance management across the organization, and further professionalizing corporate governance structures including areas such as tax and treasury.

With an anticipated exit horizon of approximately one to two years, these organizations require a Group CFO who can help shape and substantiate the value creation narrative and provide credibility towards investors, lenders and other external stakeholders.

The job profile

The Group CFO acts as the right-hand partner to the CEO and is a key member of the executive leadership team. The role operates at the intersection of strategy, performance management and financial governance, while serving as a primary financial counterpart to the private equity shareholder.

In this phase of the organization’s development, the CFO plays a central role in driving the financial agenda of the group. This includes strengthening the finance function across the organization, implementing consistent reporting and performance frameworks, and ensuring transparency on the key operational drivers of value creation.

At the same time, the CFO helps unlock synergies across the platform, supports strategic decision-making and ensures that governance, tax and treasury structures are aligned with the scale and complexity of the organization.

With an anticipated exit horizon of approximately one to two years, the CFO will also play a central role in preparing and positioning the company for a future exit process. This includes helping to articulate the value creation narrative, ensuring the financial story and underlying performance are clearly substantiated, and providing credibility with potential investors, banks and advisors during roadshows, due diligence and transaction processes.

The ideal candidate

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration, ideally complemented with a post-master qualification such as CPA, RA, RC or CMA
  • Proven experience as CFO or senior finance leader within a private equity-backed organization
  • Experience with exit readiness and transaction processes (including preparation for sale, vendor due diligence and investor interaction)
  • Experience at group level within an international organization
  • Experience in sectors such as consulting, professional services, IT services or software is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of performance management, governance and financial structuring in PE environments
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is considered a strong advantage
  • Based in the Netherlands with experience working in the Dutch business environment

  • Decisive and execution-focused leader with the ability to translate strategy into measurable results
  • Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities, with the ability to structure complexity and identify key value drivers
  • Credible sparring partner for CEO, shareholders and senior stakeholders
  • Strong communicator with the ability to clearly articulate financial performance and outlook to investors and advisors
  • Able to operate in dynamic, international environments and align multiple operating companies around shared objectives
  • Pragmatic, hands-on and results-oriented, with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to implementation
