CFO

Organization

Robin Radar Systems, headquartered in The Hague, is a leading and fast-growing technology company specialised in the detection and classification of small flying objects, such as birds and drones, in  challenging environments. Founded in 2010 as a spin-off from TNO (the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research), the company is led by founder and CEO Siete Hamminga.

Robin Radar Systems develops advanced radar solutions that combine purpose-built hardware with proprietary software. Their solutions, including the IRIS®, ELVIRA®, and MAX® radar systems, provide 360-degree, 3D coverage and are used in various critical industries including defense, security, civil and military aviation, and wind farms. These systems help prevent bird strikes, monitor wildlife, and detect drones, thereby enhancing safety for both humans and wildlife.

In October 2024, Dutch investment company Parcom announced the acquisition of Robin Radar Systems to support its global expansion and innovation efforts. The company will further invest in the development of new radar solutions to meet the changing needs within the sector. In addition to product development, Robin Radar will focus on increasing its sales and services rollout in the rapidly growing defense and civil market segments, including in North America. To facilitate joint growth, Robin Radar and Parcom will drive an ambitious scale-up strategy, expanding the organisation and increasing assembly outsourcing.

Robin Radar Systems employs over 180 “Robins”, including approximately 70 FTEs in R&D. In 2024, Robin Radar Systems achieved c. EUR 70 million in revenue, following strong double-digit growth. Looking ahead, the company aims to double or more in size over the coming years.
