Hytrans is an innovative and successful Dutch (based in Lemmer) manufacturing company specializing in development/engineering and production of high-quality mobile water transport systems. These robust, reliable, and rapidly deployable systems are used in emergency situations such as large industrial fires, wildfires, floods, and emergency cooling of nuclear reactors. Designed for quick deployment with minimal manpower, the systems can supply or remove up to 50,000 liters of water per minute and transport it over several kilometers, even uphill or under extreme conditions.
Through continuous improvements over the past decades, Hytrans has established itself as the global market leader, providing state-of-the-art solutions worldwide. The need for effective solutions, advancing regulations, and the climate change are driving the demand for these systems, as rapid control of incidents is crucial not only for safety, continuity of the activity but also because of the environmental impact.
The job profile
Hytrans is undergoing a phase of transition and professionalization, requiring strong financial leadership to navigate this transformation. To support this process and drive the company’s strategic goals, Hytrans is seeking a CFO who is eager to contribute to the growth and development of the company. In this role, you form with the CEO the Board of the company, you are part of the Management Team and manage the Finance & Administration department consisting of 1 Business Controller, 1 Finance Controller, and 1 Accounting Specialist. In addition, you are responsible for Legal subjects (using external firms), IT activities (2 IT specialists, dotted-line reporting) and Quality (internal audit team of 4 employees, and 3 Product Quality specialists, all dotted line reporting)
You report to the CEO and have an independent reporting responsibility towards the shareholders. As a key advisor to both the CEO, shareholders, and other stakeholders, you provide high-quality financial insights and advice, and contribute to decision-making at all levels.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Lead the company alongside the CEO, overseeing financial strategy and operations;
- Manage all financial aspects, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning;
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and financial risk management;
- Support new business opportunities and financial structuring of projects;
- Lead and develop a finance team of direct and indirect reports across multiple functions;
- Ensure compliance with risk and control frameworks, legal requirements, and financial regulations;
- Handle financial reporting to shareholders, lenders, and external authorities, ensuring transparency;
- Oversee IT strategy, cybersecurity, quality management (ISO9001), and HSE policies.

The ideal candidate
As the CFO you will bring an inspirational and empathetic personality to grow the business and drive the organizational improvements within Hytrans. Experience:
- Academic-level thinking and working proficiency, with a background in business economics, a post qualification is considered a plus;
- Qualification as register accountant with some years of experience;
- You have a proven track record as a CFO of a SME environment or as Finance Director with a similar scope;
- Experience with project business and the manufacturing of complex equipment and systems;
- Experience with POC accounting and its implementation in the organization;
- Strong understanding of core business processes and experience with the associated IT systems and reporting tools;
- Experience in defining and implementing an Industry 4.0 strategy is a plus;
- Strong communication and presentation skills in Dutch and English. Proficiency in German and Frisian is a plus.
